Technology matters, but ultimately everything we make is guided by human hands, and by lasting relationships with customers built on trust, dialogue, and respect.

Boss Design was founded in 1983 by Brian Murray with a simple focus: quality. Partnering with the master craftspeople at WG Gallis in Dudley, Brian set out to create beautifully made furniture using honest materials and exacting standards. Working with designer Hilary Birkbeck, the team developed the Delphi chair, spring steel back, Pirelli platform, leather and chrome, which quickly established Boss in the world of contract seating. Early orders from Harrods, British Airways, major broadcasters, and conference centers set the tone for what followed as the business grew and WG Gallis became part of Boss.
